Shopping in Beijing might be with a lot of fun. Shopping malls and plazas are spawning up all over the capital recent years, all you have to do is collect your money and time, and ready to let your eyes be dazzled. There are various places to go for shopping in Beijing, depending on what kind of stuffs you want to buy and what kind of service you expect to receive.

Wangfujing Street
Wangfujing, a seven hundred-year-old commercial street, is located to the east of Tiananmen Square and stretches from Chinese Art Gallery to the Dongchan'an Avenue. Rambling through this fairly long street, you may feel the aroma of the ancient and modern atmosphere of China, it’s more like a kaleidoscope boasts from New Dong'an Bazaar, Department Store, Arts and Crafts Mansion, Foreign Language Bookstore, Shengxifu Hat Store, Quanjude Roast Duck Restaurant and Vegetarian Restaurant, you can buy all kinds of goods from Silk, Chinese Medicine, Ceramics, Pearls, Jade Carvings, Embroidery, Antiques, Carpets, Chops, Lacquer Ware, Painted Snuff Bottles, products from various parts of the country, provides various kinds of services.
Xidan Commercial Street
Xidan Commercial Street is on Xidanbei Dajie, west of Tiananmen Square and is well known for commerce, entertainment, dinning, and finance etc. It is the second modern street in Beijing just after Wangfujing Street. Xidan commercial street starts from Xuanwumen intersection in the south to Xinjiekou Huokou to the north. The street is totally 5.4 km long. Its runs through three commercial areas of Xidan, Xisi and Xinjiekou. Here gathers the famous Xidan Department Store, the Xidan Shopping Center, the Xiangyun Chinese Fine Goods Store, a street market and a big flower market.
Liulichang Culture Street
For antiques enthusiasts, Liulichang Culture Street is a must go place where sells jewelry, antiques and ancient calligraphies and paintings. It only needs a few minutes' walk from the south of Hepingmen subway station. Rong Bao Zhai was opened about three hundred years ago, sells authentic works of paintings and calligraphies, is the best-known shop in this street.
Dashilan
Unique, prosperous. Dashilan, it’s five hundred and eighty years old history made it the oldest commercial street in Beijing. Dashilan is located on south of Tiananmen Square, west of Qianmen Dajie. You can buy some traditional handcrafts and Chinese souvenir as well.
Silk Market
Silk Alley lies in Xiushuidong Jie off Jianguomenwai Dajie, near US Embassy. Despite its name, the Silk Market has much more than just silk. You can buy cashmere garments, down jackets, leather goods, shoes, hats, watches and some handicrafts and trinkets, and many other reasonable cheap products here. More notable, you can find whatever size of clothes and shoes here. Note bargain is quite necessary here.
Silver Street
Silver street is in the Dongdan Beidajie where all the famous foreign name-brand shops are gathered.
Sanlitun Bar and Market Street
Originally is famous for its Bar street, Sanlitun is also well-known for its free markets where mostly sell clothes. Fashionable and posh styles, also a good place for bargainers.
Beijing Zoo Market
Located near XiZhiMen, next to the Beijing Zoo. In front of the zoo there is a new huge building, which is just another big market; behind it, there is the wholesale market. Low prices and a lot of genuine goods, more favorable to the Chinese people. Note, too crowded at weekend, be ware of your belongings.
Book Stores
The Beijing Foreign Languages Bookstore and Beijing Xinhua Bookstore are major book sellers. Both are at the very center of Beijing, close to Tiananmen. Also the China Book Store in Liulichang and Haidian book street near Beijing University.
